PCMagazine: The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved “Net Neutrality” rules last December, but the rules have never taken effect because they were not published in the Federal Register. Now, the FCC says it plans to publish the rules Friday, which means that they will go into effect November 20.

At a high level, the rules will enforce three basic principles on Internet Service Providers (ISPs): transparency, no blocking and no unreasonable discrimination.

Several companies are expected to file lawsuits challenging the rules. The House of Representatives previously voted to overturn Net Neutrality, but the Senate is unlikely to pass a similar measure.
