The Australian: Australian security consultant and blogger Nik Cubrilovic recently discovered that Facebook was tracking user activities even after they had logged out of the social networking site. Instead of deleting or deactivating, Facebook cookies were continuing to send personally identifiable information to the company servers after users logged out.

Now, Cubrilovic says that after a 40-minute conference call, Facebook has promised to fix the flagrant privacy breach within 24 hours. "There will still be cookies, but they won't be identifiable. That's within 24 hours," said Cubrilovic. "We can only take them at their word."
