PCMag: The European Commission has launched an antitrust investigation of 13 unnamed optical disk drive manufacturers. “The Commission takes the preliminary view that the companies concerned engaged for at least five years in bid rigging, which is one of the most serious breaches of EU antitrust rules,” the commission said in a statement.
The accused companies are invited to respond to the inquiry and may request an oral hearing. If any company is found guilty, it could face fines up to 10 percent of annual worldwide revenue.
