China Denies Any Involvement in 'Shady RAT'

The Chinese government says the allegations that it was involved in a major cyber-spying operation are "irresponsible."

PCMagazine: The Chinese government has responded to allegations that it is involved in a major cyber-spying operation by saying, "It is irresponsible to link China to Internet hackers."

While the original report from McAfee implied that a single nation was behind the attacks, rival security vendor Symantec says it doesn't think so. "There has been some discussion of this being a government-sponsored attack. However, the finger can’t be pointed at any particular government. Not only are the victims located in various places around the globe, so too are the servers involved in these attacks," blogged Symantec's Hon Lau.
