Apple's Lion Drives 26% Rise in Mac Sales During July

The company is expected to have record-breaking Mac sales for the current quarter.

AppleInsider: The release of the new MacBook Airs and Mac OS X Lion are credited with helping Apple achieve a 26 percent year-over-year increase in sales of Mac computers. That puts the company on track to sell 4.5 million Macs in the current quarter ending in September. That would be the company's best ever quarter.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said that it will be tougher for the company to show such impressive year-over-year growth figures in August and September, because those were very good months for Mac sales last year.
