Adobe ending mobile Flash development, cutting 750 jobs

Adobe says it will shift its focus to AIR and HTML5.

LA Times: Adobe has apparently decided to throw in the towel on mobile Flash. The company said today that it will stop work on Flash plug-ins for mobile devices and will shift resources to AIR and HTML5 technologies. "Over the past two years, we've delivered Flash Player for mobile browsers and brought the full expressiveness of the web to many mobile devices," blogged Adob'es Danny Winokur. "However, HTML5 is now universally supported on major mobile devices, in some cases exclusively. This makes HTML5 the best solution for creating and deploying content in the browser across mobile platforms."

Adobe also announced that it will cut 750 jobs in a restructuring effort.
