The Technisource IT Employment Report, based on a survey conducted in the U.S. by Harris Interactive, concluded that although many parts of the economy are still in the doldrums, IT employee confidence is at the highest level it's been in more than three years.
"The marked increase in confidence this quarter tells us that technology workers may be in a more solid position for the economic recovery compared to other industries," Michael Winwood, president of technology services provider Technisource, said in a statement.
Of those technology workers participating in the online survey, 38 percent said they believed the economy is getting stronger, up 6 percent from the first quarter of this year. The IT workers expressed even more confidence in their ability to find a new job. Last quarter, 41 percent said they were confident they could find a new job, but that number bumped up to 54 percent in the latest survey.
