IDC: Market research firm IDC predicts a rosy future for the PC market. Building on last year's 2.9 percent growth rate, the company anticipates that global growth in the PC market will hit 12.6 percent for 2010. The company says that PC revenues should equal 2008 highs by 2012.
"PC volume continued to grow in 2009 faring much better than in 2001, when a smaller recession produced a decline in PC volume. The positive 2009 results reflect lower prices and the fact that PCs are increasingly a must-have product," said research analyst Jay Chou.
