The Inquirer: Switching to a provider other than Gmail won't keep you safe from targeted phishing attacks, says security vendor Trend Micro. According to the firm, Yahoo and Hotmail have also been targeted by "spear phishing" schemes similar to the recent attack on Google's Gmail.

Often the e-mail messages used in these attacks appear to come from legitimate sources, but Trend Micros says that they usually contain spelling and grammatical errors that should alert users.
