Computerworld: Business technology services company Avanade has released the results of a new survey which found that 20 percent of enterprise executives and business unit leaders said that they had gone around the IT department in order to use cloud computing services. Of those who had bypassed the IT department, 61 percent said it was easier to handle their needs themselves, and 50 percent said that going through IT would take too long. In addition, 60 percent said that they violated company policy when they took their actions, but didn't consider company policy a deterrent.
The survey also found that 74 percent of enterprises now use some cloud computing services.
