Chrome Cracks 12.5% Share

In the latest Net Applications data, Chrome, Safari and Firefox made gains while Internet Explorer continued to fall.

eWeek: According to Net Applications statistics for May, Google's Chrome Web browser made the biggest market share gains during the month, climbing 0.5 percent to reach 12.5 percent. Apple's Safari climbed from 7.1 percent in April to 7.3 percent in May, and use of Mozilla's Firefox increased slightly from 21.6 percent to 21.7 percent.

Although it still holds first place in the browser market by a wide margin, Microsoft's Internet Explorer continued its long, slow decline, falling from 54.3 percent from 55.1 percent.
