ReadWriteWeb: A recently released Distimo study analyzes how often users are downloading the 200,000 apps available through the Android Market. They found that the majority of free apps were downloaded less than 1,000 times, and the majority of paid apps were downloaded less than 100 times. Only 96 applications were downloaded more than 5 million times.

Analysts say the low downloads may be due the way Google determines which apps end up on its Top Charts.
