ReadWriteWeb: This morning, Apple approved the 500,000th app for the iOS App Store. However, due to removals and replacements, only about 400,000 of those apps are currently available to users. Still, that's a lot more apps than second place Google, which currently has about 200,000 apps in the Android Market.

If you wanted to buy every one of those apps, it would cost you $891,982.24. The average paid app costs $3.64, but 37 percent of App Store apps are free.
