eWeek: A new survey of 2,000 organizations in North America and Europe conducted by CA Technologies finds that IT downtime costs these enterprises a total of 127 million person-hours annually. That means each company loses an average of 545 person-hours per year due to IT system failures. Despite those numbers, 56 percent of North American companies and 30 percent of European companies don't have a formal disaster recovery policy.
The survey found that each company suffers an average of 14 hours of downtime per year.
