Gartner's Top Nine Cloud Contract Terms to Mitigate Risk

ComputerWeekly: Recent highly publicized outages at Amazon, Microsoft and others has some enterprises more worried about the risk of using cloud computing services. A new Gartner report says that organizations can help mitigate that risk by making sure their contracts with cloud providers include certain key provisions. They include the following:

  1. Uptime guarantees
  2. Service-level agreement (SLA) penalties
  3. SLA penalty exclusions
  4. Security
  5. Business continuity and disaster recovery
  6. Data privacy conditions
  7. Suspension of service
  8. Termination
  9. Liability
