InformationWeek: VMware is taking the wraps off a new service designed to unify access to public and private cloud computing and enable more consumerization of IT. Called the "Horizon App Manager," the tool is the first offering that will be part of the company's "Project Horizon."
Horizon App Manager will allow users to access both public and private cloud resources through a single sign-on. "This really helps [enterprise] customers to embrace cloud applications," said VMware's Noah Wasmer. It will benefit IT managers who "are really trying to find ways to secure and manage those applications in a unified way," he added.
