Microsoft: One Out of 14 Downloads Is Malware

The company says that Internet Explorer's security features block between 2 and 5 million attacks a day.

PCMag: In a blog post, Microsoft's Jeb Haber reported that malware downloads are more prevalent than many people might think. "From our experience operating these services at scale, we have found that 1 out of every 14 programs downloaded is later confirmed as malware," he said.

Haber also said that Internet Explorer 8 and 9's security features block between 2 and 5 million attacks a day.
