SAP Revs up Mobile Application Strategy

The company has announced a series of new apps and a new mobile development platform.

PCWorld: At the Sapphire Now conference, enterprise software heavyweight SAP made several announcements related to its mobile strategy. For developers, the company is rolling out a new version of the Sybase Unwired Platform for mobile application development, with an SDK expected within a few months. For end users, the company is introducing about twenty new mobile apps aimed at industries like utilities, energy, retail and manufacturing.

SAP's apps currently support iOS, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile, and Android support is coming soon.
