Intel Sees 15 Billion Devices on the Cloud by 2015

An Intel exec predicts that every person on the planet will be affected by cloud computing in the next decade.

InformationWeek: At the Interop technology conference in Las Vegas, Intel Architecture Group VP Kirk Skaugen made some big predictions for the future of cloud computing. First, he said that 15 billion intelligent devices of all kinds will be connected to the cloud by 2015. “If it runs on electricity, it will compute, and if it computes it will be connected to the Internet,” said Skaugen.

He also predicted that every person on the planet will be impacted in some way by cloud computing in the next decade. In addition, he said that Intel's new 3D processors will helping to make those predictions to come true.
