NetworkWorld: Arbor Networks has announced a new line of Pravail Availability Protection System (APS) appliances, which will allow enterprises to protect themselves against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. Arbor's previous anti-DDoS gear was designed for use by ISPs, but these new devices help enterprises reduce the security threats posed by these attacks. In addition, the APS appliances can transmit data to any Arbor appliances used by a company's ISP so that the two can work together to stop DDoS attacks.

The appliances are in beta trials now and will be available for purchase in the third quarter. Prices will start at $65,000.
