Cnet: A new Forrester Research report shows that while many companies are investigating alternatives to Microsoft Office, few are actually implementing them. For example, while 69 percent of those surveyed were somewhat interested, actually looking or piloting Web-based office productivity solutions like Google Apps, only 3 percent were actively implementing or had already implemented these solutions. Similarly, while 45 percent were somewhat interested, actually looking or piloting open source office productivity solutions like OpenOffice.org, only 5 percent were implementing these options.

Other lower cost alternatives to Office, including Corel WordPerfect Office, were generating much less interest among potential users.
