The Guardian: For the first time in 20 years, Microsoft's quarterly profits and revenues were smaller than Apple's. For the most recent quarter, Microsoft reported solid results with net income up 30 percent to $5.2 billion, and revenues up 13 percent to $16.4 billion. However, those figures weren't as impressive as Apple's $6 billion in profits and $24.7 billion in revenue.
Apple's market capitalization overtook Microsoft's in May 2010.
