Microsoft Collects Locations of Windows Phone Users

Apple and Google aren't the only ones tracking their users.

Cnet: Apple and Google aren't the only companies tracking their mobile users' locations -- Microsoft tracks Windows Phone 7 users as well. However, unlike Apple, Microsoft does not save users' location histories on their phones.

Phones with the Microsoft operating system send a unique device ID, details about nearby Wi-Fi networks, and the phone's GPS-derived exact latitude and longitude to the company.
