Apple Named 'Least Green' Tech Company

Greenpeace gives high marks to Yahoo, Google and Amazon.

The Guardian: Greenpeace has published a report titled "How Dirty is Your Data?" that rates technology companies based on the energy consumption of their data centers. Apple landed at the bottom of the list because of its dependance on highly polluting coal power. Facebook, IBM, HP and Twitter also scored poorly on the chart.

By contrast, Yahoo received top marks on the clean energy index, followed by Google and Amazon.
