All Things Digital: Amazon Web Services is reporting that servers at its Virginia data center that serve its EC2 customers went down overnight. As a result, many startups who rely on Amazon's cloud computing services also went dark. They include fairly well-known firms like Foursquare, Quora, and Reddit, as well as lesser-known companies like Hootsuite, Ow.ly, Discovr, Wildfire and others.

In addition, Amazon is reporting problems with its Elastic Beanstalk and relational database service, as well. The company is still working to correct the issues.
