ReadWriteWeb: Facebook has announced that it has taken several new steps to protect the safety and security of users. They include the following:

  • Updating its Family Safety Center with new information on cyber-bullying.
  • Expanding its social reporting tool to more sections of the site to make it easier to report content that contains hate speech, violence, illegal activity, pornography, spam or scam content or personal attacks.

  • Improving its use of HTTPS connections for greater security on the site.
