Computerworld: In the recently published release notes for the upcoming Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) browser, Microsoft revealed that customers will have to be running Windows 7 in order to run the next version of its browser. This decision not to support Windows Vista follows an earlier decision not to support Windows XP for IE9, the most current version of the browser that's publicly available.
"Windows Vista customers have a great browsing experience with IE9, but in building IE10 we are focused on continuing to drive the kind of innovation that only happens when you take advantage of the ongoing improvements in modern operating systems and modern hardware," said a Microsoft spokesperson.
Early Web comments from Vista users indicate that they are not happy with the news.
