ReadWriteWeb: Microsoft's Kinect motion controller for its XBox gaming system is the fastest-selling tech gadget in history (yes, faster than the iPad and iPhone). Now Microsoft has announced that it will release a software development kit (SDK) for Kinect this spring. That will allow other developers to create applications that use the device and effectively turns it into a platform.

Observers say that the Kinect interface could become an integral part of the Windows operating system in the near future. Some say it could eventually replace the mouse.
