IBM Partners with Akamai on Application Accelerator Products

eWeek: IBM and partner Akamai are rolling out a new line of products designed to provide enterprises with faster access to Web and cloud-based apps. The first of the series, WebSphere Application Accelerator for Public Networks, is available now. It moves information across the Internet more quickly, while protecting data from attacks. In the future, the two companies plan to begin offering IBM WebSphere Application Accelerator for Hybrid Networks and the IBM DataPower Edge Appliance XE82.

“The applications we depend on both as consumers and in the enterprise require a great deal of data center resources,” said IBM's Marie Wieck. “The new solutions we’ve created in collaboration with Akamai provide clients with a cost-effective and secure way of speeding the delivery of applications from the enterprise through the Internet to the end-user and back.”
