Computerworld: Dell has taken the wraps off its new PowerEdge C6145 server that can handle up to eight 12-core AMD Opteron 6100 series processors, for a total of 96 CPU cores. The server comes with 1TB of RAM and is designed to handle scientific or math applications. It also works well in cloud or virtualized environments.
Prices start at $18,000, and servers will be available for purchase on Feb. 28.
