PCMagazine: Intel has spearheaded the formation of a new group dedicated to promoting interoperability and security in cloud computing. The Open Data Alliance includes seventy of the world's largest companies and will be directed by a group of ten that includes BMW, China Life, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Lockheed Martin, and Shell. Together the companies in the group spend $50 billion per year on IT.
The Open Data Alliance plans to publish a roadmap by 2015.
