Firefox 3.6.2 Plugs Critical Security Hole

After the German government advises citizens to stop using Firefox, the browser fixes a vulnerability ahead of schedule.

eWeek: Recently, the German government advised citizens to stop using the Firefox browser until it issued a patch for a critical vulnerability. That prompted Firefox developer Mozilla to issue a security update ahead of schedule.

Mozilla included that patch in the new Firefox 3.6.2, which was originally set for release on March 30. “We urge users to promptly update to this release by selecting 'Check for Updates…' from the 'Help' menu, or by visiting https://www.mozilla.com/ for a free download,” said Mozilla.
