InformationWeek: In the past, Microsoft's desktop virtualization services have been criticized for their lack of speed and advanced capabilities, but the company appears to be trying to change that.
Microsoft has announced that it has applied a desktop acceleration technology it acquired from Calista in 2008 into Microsoft Remote Desktop Services. That should improve the speed of those services.
In addition, the company also announced that it will simplify and lower prices for virtualized desktops running Windows, and that it signed an agreement with Citrix to extend Microsoft's RemoteFX with Citrix' HDX.
