Opera 10.5 Grabs Browser Speed Crown
In the latest tests, Opera 10.5 was 15 percent faster than Safari for Windows and 20 percent faster than Chrome.

FriendFeedComputerworld: In tests run by Computerworld Opera 10.5 performed the fastest on JavaScript benchmarks. Until now, Opera ranked near the bottom for browser speed, surpassing only IE 8 on tests.
Opera bested Safari for Windows, the previous champ, by 15 percent, and it topped Google Chrome by 20 percent. It was twice as fast as Firefox 3.6 and ten times as fast as Internet Explorer 8.
